Last month, a movement challenge showed up on my Instagram feed. The moment I saw it made me think of what my fitness goal is because honestly, I don't have one. I am a mom who juggles so many things at home and at work that most of the time, I don't have time to work out often. But then, I really wanted to lose weight because most of my clothes are my pre-maternity outfits and it wouldn't fit me anymore. Other than that, I also want to get stronger and spend more time playing with my kids so I feel that I badly need a motivation to start moving. So at that instant, without thinking I immediately joined the challenge and grabbed my jump rope to start.
At the start of the challenge, I am anxious if I can finish it. I am the type who always try to do her job properly and I don't want to sign up without devoting my time to it. I might not succeed in doing it because honestly, working out for the whole month seems like its too difficult for me. I attend to two kids while working at home where one has autism who also needs therapy. There's also blogging, doing photo shoots for content, house chores and a lot more. But all those didn't stopped me from continuing the challenge. Slowly, I found how it works for me and my schedule so I pushed myself to the limit and try to finish it.
And just about that, the 30 days of Movement Challenge was done. Out of hundred plus moms who joined, I am one of the 40 who completed the 30 days movement and finished strong. A proof that despite different ordeals, I was able to execute and finished successfully on the things that I started doing. You can follow my Instagram and check on my stories on @muchlovemommy.
During the duration of the challenge, an account on Instagram would repost our stories and I've seen a lot of other moms also doing their best. Other's would wear their body shaper and would work their butts off. I actually got a little bashful since I just wore my usual home clothes and no workout clothes, nor workout shoes. I don't have workout clothes. No new ones. All my workout clothes were small and I didn't bought one for myself since I just joined the challenge last minute.
It feels different when you work out and you are wearing comfortable workout clothes, right? So I did a little research on where I can find great outfits perfect for working out, and apart from that I also had to find the best plus size shapewear that would be great while I'm skipping or perfect to wear on just ordinary days.
Remember that working out gives you time to work on yourself, physically and mentally. You have to push yourself because nobody else is going to do it for you. The pain you will feel today is just temporary because whatever it is you feel today, will be the strength you will feel tomorrow.
Congrats po. All your hard work are not in vain, I can the result. I admire your dedication and perseverance.
