Product Review: Bio Oil

You know you’re a mom when you have battle scars in your tummy. They say it’s a trademark of being one. But there are those who battle with pregnancy without those marks.  I envy those people because it seems like they didn’t passed that stage of pregnancy at all. Despite applying different lotions and exercising before and after pregnancy, I still have a lot of these battle marks and not only in my tummy but in different areas as well.

So as I researched on how stretch mark can be removed, it is mentioned on every article I read that it cannot be removed unless you perform a surgery. It can still be lightened though. So in search of the most effective stretch mark remover (or lightener), I came up in using a product called Bio Oil.

I’ve seen Bio Oil in commercials before but got no idea that it can lighten stretch mark. I only thought that it was for cleansing and moisturizing.

The container of this product is a transparent bottle that has an orange content into it. It’s in an easy twist-cap and its content can be easily dispense. The hole on top is a little bigger that it has the tendency to spill a lot of product at once. You have to be careful in pouring the product on the palm of your hands.

It has a light, mild scent which I actually like. It's easy on the nose that I think even if I am delicate to smell when I was pregnant, this is the type that I can tolerate.

If bought at the store, it retails at P495.00. However, I didn’t paid for it that much. I got this during the launch of the Glamourbox Babies and Beyond curated box. There’s two of this and I already used up the first bottle when I decided to make a review on it.

For me, it is between the heavy and light feeling. The first moment I used this was for cleansing my face. It felt a little heavy after application but after a minute or less, the heavy feeling was eventually gone. It is different on my tummy though. The application felt awesome because it was easily absorbed by the skin. I didn’t felt the oiliness that much.

When I used the first bottle, I thought that it didn’t do anything much on my skin. However, on my second bottle, I noticed that it somehow lightened my stretch mark. I think you just need to continuously use it to see some effect. My very dark marks was lightened to 3-4 shades away. I also used this for face cleansing, but not as a moisturizer. I feel that it’s quite heavy for day time moisturizing but might consider it at night.

Yay for me! (。◕‿  ◕。)
  • It is so great in cleansing as it removes dirt and impurities on the face.
  • Lightens stretch marks.
  • Helps improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
  • Claims to have Vitamin A & E
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Suitable for all skin types
Nay! (。◕︵◕。)
  • Sometimes it feels heavy on the skin.
  • Not recommended for day time moisturizer
Price: Got it on Glamourbox Beauties and Beyond Curated Box
P495.00 when purchased individually
Bought from: Glamourbox
 Size: 60 ml.

I recommend this to all who wants to see improvement in their stretch marks. I might not have proofs because my supposedly "before" photos were all lost when my phone was damaged (LCD was broken and would cost me 5k!), but my marks really lightened. I will try to purchase another bottle and will try to use it exclusively on the dark marks on my body.

Much Love, Mommy ❤
