Laundry Hacks You Need To Know

I hardly knew any moms who would tick doing the laundry as one of their favorite household chores.  Some hated it since it's a big task especially if they have to manually wash with their hands, or folding takes a lot of energy for them. Well I say I belong in that list, until quarantine happened and it gave me a different perspective on doing the laundry at home.

Cliche as it may sound but I found doing the laundry therapeutic now. I discovered great hacks to manage laundry at home which helps me save me time and energy. I must say getting a good washing machine is a great help too since I recently got a new one. I decided to buy my washing machine in the store who also have automatic washing machine for sale. I was so happy we got our washing machine at a discounted price. It's a great opportunity to avail discount especially at this time of pandemic. Every saved cent counts.

Anyway, going back to the hacks I want to share to you here are some of the laundry hacks I wanted to share with you guys.

1. SOAK WHITES

We all know that whites are very difficult to clean especially if there are stains. I always have stains in the kids clothes so I always need to soak their whites for a minimum of 30 minutes or if I have more time, overnight.

Soaking helps to soften the stains and it's easier to remove. A tried and tested hack!

2. RUB CALAMANSI/LEMON ON STAINS

Others add bleach but since it might make the clothes thin, I use lemon or calamansi instead. I usually rub some then add powder in the stained area and wait soak it for a while before washing it.

3. KEEP PAIRED SOCKS IN A MESH LAUNDRY BAG

One of the greatest challenge in my laundry is finding a socks' pair. You see, this hubby of mine is really disoriented when it comes to his socks. Sometimes, he forgets them on his shoes or the next time, he just toss them around the hamper without knowing that the other one fell under the rack so no one sees them. Only after folding the clothes I would noticed that there are missing socks. I dislike that.

So I had to get a mesh bag to make my life easy. It helps. Really.

4. BABY POWDER TO REMOVE OIL STAINS

My first born loves to eat fried chicken and most of the time he would wipe his hands on his shirt. Help! Too late to stop him but no worries. Their baby powder can do the trick. I usually sprinkle powder on the oil build up then just go with the regular soaking and washing then zaap, done. Stain removed!

5. ADD VINEGAR IN RINSING CLOTH DIAPERS

My kids have been using cloth diapers for more than a year now and it's been a challenge to clean them. Good thing, good ole trusty vinegar comes to the rescue. Vinegar is known as softener and softens cloths without the harsh chemical. It also helps in reducing smelly odor in clothes.

You see, doing the laundry can be easy with some simple hacks like these. As long as you don't stress yourself on the chores, then you're all good. Just remember that you're doing good for keeping your family clean and healthy. After all, a clean family, is a happy family.

Much Love, Mommy ❤

  7. I always got an issue with soaking whites. Sometimes it isn't working. But I am now using a Varnish Napisan (Australian laundry soaking brand) and it was like a gift from heaven. Amazing!
