Mama Tet Cooks: Ginisang Tahong

I am always fond of seafood so I decided to cook Adobong Tahong when hubby bought tahong at the market one day. I want to have baked mussels at first but we ran out of cheese so change of plan.

I'm happy that Railey loved it. I actually noticed that he likes food with ginger like tinola and the like. So whenever I'm having difficulty feeding him, this meal is a savior.

Here's how to do it.

INGREDIENTS

      3-4 cloves of garlic
      1 small onion
      small ginger
      1 dahon ng sili
      1k. tahong (cleaned)
      fish sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Saute garlic, onion, and ginger. Add fish sauce. Then add the tahong and continue sauteing to open the mussels.
2. Add water then bring to a boil.
3. Add sili. You can adjust the taste here if you haven't achieved the taste yet. But I always find myself getting the taste I desire.

TIP: Make sure the tahong is fresh. You can also change the water to sprite which I sometimes do. It will make the soup more sweet.

Next time we buy mussels, it will be for baked mussels then. 😉

Sarap, let's eat!
Much Love, Mommy ❤

  1. Tahong is one of my favorite seafood. I remembered how my mom cooks this dish for us. But she is working overseas now. I missed this dish, I missed mom. :(

  3. I love mussels so much! They have such a unique taste regardless of what dish they're thrown into. I love eating them with soup, but this seems just as tasty!
