Mama Tet Cooks: Sarciadong Isda

How to revamp your leftover fish? I do it the sarciado way

I have a confession to make. This family always has the tendency to have leftover food. We always have a huge leftover food waste since I don't know when.

So to save those dishes, I spice them up in different ways. I usually do Sarciado when we have leftover fishes from frying. Usually we have tilapya ang galunggong for that.

Sarciado is so simple to make. Here are the ingredients and the procedure.

Ingredients

      leftover dried fish
lots of tomatoes and picked the ripe ones
      1-2 eggs
      2-3 cloves garlic
      1 small onion
      salt and pepper to taste
      spring onion (optional for garnish)

Procedure:

1. Saute onion, garlic and tomatoes until soft.
2. Add water depending how much liquid you want to put on your dish. A glass or a cup will do.
3. Add salt and pepper. Adjust it to your liking.
4. Add egg and stir.
5. When is started to simmer, add the fish and wait for another minute to let the liquid goes inside the fish. Garnish with spring onions then serve.

We don't have spring onions often at home 'cause it's so difficult to purchase here in our market. As you would noticed, both gg and tilapya doesn't have garnish on it. I just cook and use whatever we have in the kitchen.  It would look better though if there's added color to it.

Anyway, I always like this dish because it's simple and it's an easy way to let the people at home eat it again instead of just reheating it.

So how do you revamp your leftovers? Share them on the comments. I want to hear those tips. 😉

Much Love, Mommy ❤
